I asked my son what he wanted to eat for lunch and he replied, “Mama! Pizza!” Of course, I was super excited that he actually answered me, but then I realized I did not have any pizza. I searched the freezer and cabinets and found I had everything to make pizza but I did not have any pizza dough. That is when it hit me; I can make pizza with garlic Texas Toast! You know we all have this in our freezer for when we have our spaghetti or lasagna night.
Jax told me he wanted to help mommy make lunch and of course, I replied yes! It is always fun to get your kids involved in the kitchen. It is okay to let them get their hands dirty from time to time mamas.
There is nothing fancy to this recipe at all. You just need your kid and a few ingredients. You will see that there are no measurements provided. This is because it is really about your child’s taste buds.
Grated Mozzarella cheese
Grated Cheddar Cheese
Frozen garlic Texas Toast
Turkey Pepperoni (we do not eat pork)
Preheat your oven to 400 and cover a pan with some foil. Place the Texas Toast on the baking pan then add all of your toppings. I used cheddar and mozzarella cheese because that is what I had on hand. You can feel free to add some chicken if you had any left over, that would be yummy as well. Skies the limit!
Place your Texas Toast in the oven and pay close attention to it as it can burn easily. Once it is crisp on the edges and all the cheese melted, it’s done!
Let it cool and then you and your littles can have a cute pizza lunch!
P.S. Jax had his pizza with a side of AppleJax!
